     Let me start with the second part of your question. In the case of Edgar Cayce and Jane Roberts, they were trance channels. They were asleep when they worked allowing Spirit to access the subconscious as well as the unconscious parts of their brains. This kind of channeling necessitates a partner to write down the information given, as the channel does not remember what comes through.
     And to answer your question, it is very hard on the body for several reasons but the two biggest are that our bodies respond to signals from the unconscious mind like yawning to get more oxygen in the body and blinking to remove dirt from the eye and to lubricate. Now this is simplistic but when Spirit takes over in that context there is a diminishing of automatic nervous system responses. Secondly, channeling a higher dimensional frequency plays havoc with your pancreas as you are using a great deal of sugar and you become somewhat hypoglycemic. The channeling that I do, along with most other channels these days, allows spirit to enter the body and ‘share’ space. I am aware of their energy and am conscious of what is being said. As a matter of fact, many times Spirit will send me a block of thought to interpret and share for my client -while they are simultaneously saying to me “listen to this, or pay attention -this pertains to you as well” That is very strange,... having two conversations at once. When I first began channeling I had much difficulty holding the frequency. I gained weight. Every time I channeled ,even briefly, my hands and feet swelled up with fluid. I no longer could wear my contact lenses or jewelry and I was disoriented and dizzy. What fun, huh? It does eventually get easier. Your body relaxes and is no longer in resistance to the ’foreign’ energy inhabiting it, and Spirit learns how to move your body around so as to balance both energies..... Now this was only my experience and I certanly can’t speak for all other channels or channeling experience. Let me say this. I do believe that anyone can channel, although some of us have had prior lifetimes of experience and or soul agreements to do so in this lifetime with specific energies. I had many lifetimes as an Essene and was a prophet in old Jerusalem where I went from town to town and was a speaker of Gods word. I was either very good and at speaking what people didn’t want to hear or was not very good because I was stoned to death. Part of my work in this lifetime is a continuation of that work. To that end I channel Lord Mattreiya, Teacher of Righteousness and The Essene Brotherhood..... Channeling doesn’t make you any more spiritual or valuable. Its just a job. Who is loved by God more, the singer or the dancer, the costumer or the set designer, the director or the stage hand? The answer is obvious. It takes each one in concert and each person adds unto the whole. Its all one great production and we all have wonderful, splendid parts to play. Find yours and play it, lovingly, outrageously and selfishly and if channeling is your part it will come... I promise.

     Mike, I truly believe that most psychics are for real. Its kind of hard to decide to be a psychic if your interest lies in restoring old engines. So, I hope I am interpreting you correctly when I take it to mean you wish to find an accurate psychic. First of all, let me say that psychics, like everyone else interpret according to their pictures of reality .We all see life through the filters of our unique personalities and experiences. No two people can ever really see the same thing, or perceive reality in the exact same way. But like musical notes, some notes are in harmony to each other and others are discordant. If you are picking a psychic using a friend’s recommendation; ask questions. How did the psychic read? What issues did he or she cover?. Was their demeanor negative or preachy? Did they say anything that didn’t feel right?.... If you are at a psychic fair, walk around, listen, feel people energy . Who do you keep finding yourself looking at or being drawn to . One more thing., I have found is that people who keep being drawn to psychics that are not accurate generally are being led by their Spirit into trusting their own inner voice and guidance's. To know if you are one of these ask yourself, when a situation occurs in my life do I immediately turn to myself for an answer or someone else? When I receive an internal answer do I trust it or do I tend to trust someone else more? If the answer is the latter-when you learn to honor your own guidance I rather doubt you will have a problem with psychics again because you will know intuitively know who to go to .... or you just won’t need us.!!!!

      Rose , the short answer to your question is..... indirectly. You are the second person to ask this question so let me explain in more detail. Like so many others I spent many a sleepless night trying to come up with a name for my website and services. I needed the name to be symbolic to me and in harmony with my purpose and work. I came up with lists and lists of possible names but nothing really grabbed me.
After a month of frustration I did what I should have done in the first place. I surrendered and asked Spirit for assistance. A few days later I had a dream. I dreamt of The Tower Of Babel. In the dream there were several groups of people surrounding the tower each speaking a different language. There appeared to be a mist or membrane separating each group from the other and preventing them from understanding the other. Upon waking I asked Spirit to explain the dream.
The answer was as follows. The Tower represents our descent into 3rd dimensional consciousness. The mist or membrane represents the illusion of separation that our egos impose... Because we feel we are separate we speak with what we feel is our singular voice and view point.. Our ego expression of uniqueness. When we transcend the illusion of separation and realize we are all one , we will speak with , not the one voice of ego but the one voice of our Spirit. And so I had my name.' One voice' is our past and our future. It is also how I define my work......helping people to find their authentic voice.

     Lori, this is a hard one to answer. It is complex , and our language and physical perceptions are limited. I will try to explain as I understand it. The universe exists on many levels, or dimensions as many like to call them. We exist on many levels. Somewhat like a school that houses many grades and classes. They are all present in the building at the same time. Yet, if you are in one of those classes, you wouldn’t be aware of the other classes in different parts of the building. They would still exist but beyond your perception.Each dimension operates within a octave-like band, a range of frequency with Source as the highest.

     Our physical eyes can only see within a short spectum of light; our ears can only hear within a short spectum of frequencies. We know dogs can hear higher frequencies. We know the speed of light exists although we can not see it. In short , we are severally limited. When a person is alive they exist on many levels as each of us have a Oversoul, a Christ oversoul and a I Am Oversoul. For the sake of simplification, lets say that those parts of ourselves operate on frequencies that we have difficulty hearing or seeing. We generally agree that lives here are more or less third dimensional. We have access to fourth and fifth dimensions, and some operate more on these levels. When a soul used to cross over, they went to an octave in the astral level. There they stayed until they returned in subsequent livetimes. This went on until their karma was complete and they returned to unite with their soul group in a dimension that is no longer individuated. But, the group soul has memory of all the experiences each individuated aspect of it has ever lived. On this level , the consciousness can seperate at will or remain blended.

     A medium or psychic is essentially a transmitter and reciever of energy. The stronger the signal, the easier to recieve.Some psychics or mediums are what I would call wide band recievers, others short bands. In other word, their abilities vary due to many things that I won't get into. When a soul crosses over, they leave an imprint, etherically of their personality somewhat like a holographic image. This is the easiest to tap into, but it is the least accurate. This would be what you call ghosts. The next easiest is the essence that has combined with the oversoul. It retains memory of the personality but has greater healing, insight and perspective as it now can see things without the veil. This is the most prevalent interaction. The last, is accessing upper dimensional frequencies and the soul group. At that point,very little that was important to a ego driven personality remains and the energy that came forth would not be recognizable as Mom or dad, sister or brother. Whew!
